Storage Brillance

OK I am so happy to be doing my first DIY blog on here!! I am a scrap booker and card maker, and I love all the things to do with that, now this being said if you have ever done any of the paper crafts that are so in right now you know that some of the cutest things to use are also super tiny. Now you can leave them in their original packaging that tends to be in funky shapes or you probably have then rolling around loose or in a million little bags and Zip lock loves you as you think that you really should have stock in them.

One night as I was thinking this very thing I happened to notice a couple of baby food jars that had ended up on my kitchen counter rather then the trash from the little boy I was watching at the time, And I had a flash back to my dads old work bench in the garage were he had small screws and things in large mason jars. And it hit me why not down size that to baby food jars and put them in my scrapbook room. So I ran them though my dish dasher to make sure they were super clean after soaking then in some hot water to get the paper and glue off the outside. And once they were all done I took them up stairs and waited for my husband to get home since he has hidden the drill after the last time I had gotten a brilliant craft idea. Thankfully I did because he posed a very interesting question to me. "Are you sure you want to have the lid screwed into your self, because then you will have open jars sitting on your desk and lets face it honey you are a klutz." So after pretending to be hurt by the comment I agreed and asked what he thought. So the next day we hit the hard wear store and got some strong magnets and some metal strips the could be screws onto the under side of my self. Then it was my turn to get to work though you could put the metal strips up yourself, First you want to choose how many magnets you want on every lip. I went with 2 for the baby food jars but bigger jars will need more.

Then you want to put a huge glop of hot glue, Mine is sparkly because that was what was in my gun at the time and as always watch your fingers because no one likes the burns from hot glue guns.Once you have the glue on there quickly squish your magnets into the glue and fill in any gaps that might not have gotten enough glue.

Let cool and set up, normal about 5 minutes. And then hang them and enjoy!!

Magical Wands!!!

Ok saddly my first post on this blog will not be a DIY like I was hoping but rather a chance to show off my husbands awesome crafting abilities. Each one has beads and groves cut into it for some magical shine as well as some cute charms and the girls first initial on some braided leather. And since I am trying to get him to sell these shoot me a message if you might want one. These three were made for my two girls and my niece. Or just enjoy!!
